The most important questions about how Deskit prepares your day, why desk detection matters, and how review, projects, absences, and privacy fit together.

What makes Deskit different?

Deskit does not ask you to actively track your time throughout the day. It prepares the day automatically from desk presence, then lets you review and refine what is already there.

Why does it use a beacon?

Deskit uses a small Bluetooth iBeacon at your desk so presence can be detected where work actually happens. That is more precise than only knowing that you are somewhere at home.

Do I need hardware?

For automatic desk-based presence detection, yes. Deskit works best with a small iBeacon placed at your desk. The goal is to keep daily use effortless once the setup is done.

Can I edit entries?

Yes. You can confirm, correct, hide, and restore entries whenever needed. Automation prepares the day, but you decide what becomes final.

Can I assign projects?

Yes. Projects are optional and are assigned manually after presence has already been prepared. They add meaning to the day without affecting presence detection.

How are absences handled?

Absences such as vacation, sick leave, appointments, or time off are handled inside the same flow as your workday. That keeps the record coherent.

How do balances work?

Deskit can calculate balances as well as over- and under-hours based on reviewed time. If the balance needs to change for a real-world reason, it can also be adjusted so the statistics stay accurate.

Is my data private?

Deskit is designed so your data stays on your iPhone and, if enabled, in your personal iCloud account. There is no Deskit backend collecting your workday.
