Deskit is built so your workday data stays with you. The app stores data on your iPhone and, if enabled, in your personal iCloud account.

Stored with you

No Deskit backend

No tracking

No third-party advertising or behavioral tracking is used.

Setup permissions only

Location, Bluetooth, and notifications are used only for app functionality.

General information

Deskit is an app for preparing and reviewing workdays in home office and hybrid work settings. Deskit is designed so that personal data is stored locally on the user’s iPhone and, if sync is enabled, in the user’s personal iCloud account.

Deskit does not store user data on its own backend servers.

What data Deskit processes

Depending on how the app is used, Deskit may process and store:

  • work entries and reviewed time data
  • absences such as vacation, sick leave, appointments, or time off
  • projects and project assignments
  • places and iBeacon configurations
  • reminders, balances, exports, and app settings

Where data is stored

Data is stored locally on the device.

If iCloud sync is enabled, data may also be stored in the user’s personal iCloud or CloudKit account so it can sync across Apple devices.

No Deskit tracking or advertising

Deskit does not use third-party advertising, behavioral tracking, or analytics services to profile users.

Permissions

Depending on the features in use, Deskit may request access to:

  • location
  • Bluetooth
  • notifications

These permissions are only used to provide app functionality such as desk-based presence detection, reminders, and related review flows.

iBeacon usage

Deskit can use a small Bluetooth iBeacon placed at a desk in order to detect desk presence more precisely. The app processes relevant iBeacon-related configuration and signal information only to support presence detection at configured work locations.

This processing happens on-device and, if enabled, through the user’s personal iCloud account. Deskit does not send this data to its own backend.

In-app purchases

Some advanced features may be unlocked through in-app purchases. Payment processing is handled by Apple. Deskit does not receive raw payment details such as credit card or banking information.

Where applicable, processing is based in particular on:

  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where processing is necessary to provide app functionality
  • Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR where consent is relevant, for example for permissions
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR where there is a legitimate interest in secure and functional app operation

Retention

Data remains stored until it is deleted by the user inside the app, removed from the device, or removed from the user’s iCloud account where applicable.

Your rights

Under applicable law, you may have rights including:

  • access
  • rectification
  • erasure
  • restriction of processing
  • data portability
  • objection
  • complaint to a supervisory authority
